Honda CB1000R – Tripping the Road Fantastic with the Honda CB1000R

Honda continues its long history of modern sport bike design with the Honda CB1000R. Continuing on its forty plus year history of creating innovative, cutting edge designs in motorcycles, Honda brings all of its knowledge and style design to bear with its 2011 sportbikes, including the CB1000R. The motorcycle comes with a fuel-injected, four-cylinder 998cc engine designed to give the rider instant power at the turn of the throttle. It comes specially tuned to run well on streets. But, if you choose, you can retune the engine to perform in sporting events or on the racetrack.

When looking at the Honda CB1000R, you need to note the innovations in the cylinder head. This already powerful engine has a 16-valve cylinder head that gives it even more raw power. The cylinder head is extremely lightweight. It provides the right amount of combustion and power to give the CB1000R all it needs for the road or the racetrack. Made from aluminum impregnated with ceramic and graphite, the cylinder head draws heat away from the engine while remaining highly resistant to the wear and tear of the streets or the racing circuit.

Keeping the bike lightweight and compact is the name of the game when it comes to the design of the Honda CB 1000R.

The chassis is mono-backbone aluminum with a thin, yet tough skin. This gives it durability without too much weight. Front suspension comes from a 43mm inverted fork. Rear suspension has a revolutionary single-sided aluminum swing arm and a single shock absorber. In between, the designers wanted to keep the engine’s front-to-back dimension as small as possible. To accomplish this, they placed the main shaft, countershaft, and crankshaft in a unique triangular configuration.

Style was not lost in the Honda CB1000R.

The aluminum wheels come with a four-spoke swept design that goes well with the minimal styling of the chassis. The seat allows one or two to sit comfortably for short or long rides. The rider has full access to necessary information through the LCD instrument panel with multi-segment tachometer. When the designers conceived the CB1000R, they wanted to give riders a unique experiences. And they accomplished their mission.
